Artifact 1: Infinite Campus
Description: Infinite Campus is an online portal for teachers, students and parents to stay virtually connected to grades, attendance records, and upcoming lesson plans.
Rationale: I believe this artifact aligns with standard nine because this website is where I find myself coming to reflect, not only on student’s grades, but also their attendance records, which I find equally as important. This information is helpful for me in maintaining a strong relationship with each student. If a student is out for an excessive amount of time for example, I can check in with them and gage what kind of intervention might be needed. This website can also be a good place for home to school connection and student and parent reflection.

Artifact 2: Civil Rights Unit
Description: The Civil Rights Unit consists of five lessons. This unit encourages students to imagine what life was like in the Jim Crow South, to understand why so many people were willing to risk their lives to change it, and to explore how they went about doing so. The image above is a screenshot of all pieces that were needed in making this unit happen (slideshows, lesson plans, documents. etc.)
Rationale: I believe this unit, as a whole, connects well with this standard because there was a tremendous amount of reflection throughout each lesson which helped me adjust plans for the next lesson. At the end of each and every lesson I spent a significant amount of time thinking about and writing a reflection. In these reflections, I usually considered how my students did in meeting the learning objectives, what was effective and helpful, and what I could do differently and why. Reflection is not only important in planning for the next lesson, but it is also very important for growth as a professional.
