Artifact 1: Team Meetings
Description: Every Day One Block One all grade 11 teachers meet in a small professional learning community. At these meetings we plan for the year, discuss RTI, create action plans for students falling behind, pick honored students of the month, discuss specific teaching strategies, etc. This specific picture is just a screenshot of an email between the teachers in our group, finding an artifact that provides evidence of these meetings was a bit tricky.
Rationale: I feel as though this artifact goes perfectly with a standard on collaboration. Everything we do in these team meetings is an example of concrete forms of collaboration among colleagues/school professionals. It is especially helpful to have this time to talk with veteran teachers about specific issues student(s) may be dealing with and also to gain experienced advice. Having time to collaborate with team members is important so that we can all be on the same page.

Artifact 2: Parent Teacher Conferences
Description: Parent-teacher conferences are held twice a semester with additional meetings coordinated by either the teacher or parent(s) as needed. At a typical parent-teacher conference, a student’s parent(s) will meet with all (or most) of the student’s teachers at once. This meeting lasts about 15 minutes. Topics that are discussed include grades, goals for the student, questions/ comments, etc.
Rationale: This artifact shows a nice alignment with standard 10 because of the collaboration with colleagues and parents with the intent to improve student learning. This artifact is a document outlining the schedule of a recent parent night.
